Kate and James launched Myoko Embodied in 2020 in the mountains of Japan, in a small town called Myoko Kogen. At this time, the brand was launched under a different name and sold a range of natural products including organic toothpaste, natural detergent, natural soaps and… Tallow skincare! All of the products were handmade at this time and were sold at local markets and eventually shipped around Japan.

Returning to Australia, Kate and James wanted to honor the art of tallow skincare. They wanted to use the lessons of simplicity learned in the Japanese mountains. They completely re-branded and relaunched the business in Australia as Myoko Embodied, a name that truly encompasses their unique journey and love for that wholesome, intentional mountain life.
