Discover the charm of Lost Tide Spirit Co, a micro-distillery on South Australia’s Yorke Peninsula. It started in a beachside shed and now calls the Oyster Bay Hotel building home. Keira and Bennett founded and operate the distillery. They handcraft premium small-batch gin, vodka, and cocktail liqueurs with a distinctively Australian flair.
Their cellar door offers an intimate tasting experience. It seats just six guests. Tastings include three gins, three liqueurs, plus seasonal fruit infusions and sneak previews of new releases. The tasting lasts around 30 minutes and costs $10. That fee is discounted if you buy a bottle.
The cellar door welcomes visitors Friday to Sunday from noon to 5 pm. However, private appointments are available by request. Booking ahead is highly recommended.
One of their standout spirits is Big Thyme Gin. It blends rosemary, native basil, native thyme, juniper, and coriander for a Mediterranean herbal twist. Another favourite, Lemon Myrtle Gin, delivers bold citrus notes from native lemon myrtle, balanced with juniper, coriander, and angelica. Their Classic Dry Gin offers a juniper-forward profile with carefully selected botanicals.
Vodka lovers will enjoy their premium grain-based vodka, copper distilled and proofed with rainwater from Southern Yorke Peninsula. They also produce Yuzu Vodka with a bright citrus twist for cocktails.
For something indulgent, try their liqueurs: Chai Spice, Coffee, and Salted Caramel. They come in both single bottles and sampler packs.
Exciting updates are on the way: soon, guests can enjoy a cocktail tasting add-on and a gin masterclass to blend their own bottle to take home.
