Shredding Trails specialise in premium Mountain Biking (MTB) Jerseys made from recycled plastic bottles derived from the world’s oceans and estuaries. Shredding Trails was established by former university biochemistry lecturer and researcher, Michael Georgalli. After being made redundant during COVID, Michael decided to follow his family’s passion for mountain biking. Their goal was to provide MTB riders with the highest level of comfort for the ultimate MTB apparel experience, whilst also contributing towards a healthier planet.

Our oceans face an enormous and growing threat from something we encounter every day: plastics. An estimated 15 billion kilos of plastic enter the marine environment every year. That’s roughly equivalent to dumping two garbage trucks of plastic into the oceans every minute!
Did you know?
- The ocean produces at least 50% of the planet’s oxygen.
- Oceans absorb about 30% of carbon dioxide produced by humans, buffering the impacts of global warming.
- The ocean is key to our economy with an estimated 40 million people being employed by ocean-based industries by 2030.
Shredding Trails appreciate the need to be part of the solution and hence use recycled plastic bottles to create the very fabric used in the manufacture of our jerseys. What’s more, jerseys are manufactured locally and can be recycled, preventing them from ending up in landfill. In short, Shredding Trails are one of the only mountain biking brands in the world to have a 360 degree environmentally sustainable model.
Shredding Trails also provide custom made, environmentally friendly solutions for schools wanting to kit out their MTB squads.
